Converting to Judasim with the Congregation HEA
Becoming a Jew - Conversion
The HEA welcomes those curious about Judaism to
explore our community, and to feel embraced as they make their
journey towards becoming a Jew. Choosing to be Jewish is an
evolutionary process that culminates in the adoption of a new
cultural, spiritual, national, and even historical identity.
Conversion to Judaism requires serious study, active
participation in Jewish holiday and lifecycle events, and, finally,
a ritual moment of acceptance and affirmation.
Our synagogue is a partner in Denver’s
Introduction to Judaism Program.
Sponsored and taught by the rabbis of the Rocky Mountain Rabbinical
Council, this pluralistic class is a model of trans-denominational
cooperation. Over the
course of 26 sessions, students build basic Jewish literacy in a
wide range of topics.
Becoming Jewish, however, involves much more than acquiring
knowledge. Students
meet regularly with one of our rabbis who will offer mentorship and
spiritual guidance.
Conversion candidates work with us to integrate Jewish rituals,
religious practices, beliefs and ethics into their lives.
The Hebrew Educational Alliance is affiliated with Judaism’s
Conservative Movement.
Our conversion process culminates with the traditional rituals that
conform to Jewish law, ensuring that your conversion will be widely
accepted in the Jewish community.
If you are thinking about becoming Jewish, the
first step is to make an appointment with one
of our rabbis.
